| Your Mothers House is a video installation that includes a hand crafted miniature theatre (1.5 feet tall) and a seven minute animated movie. The work was completed in May of 2001 and installed at the Center for Contemporary Art in Santa Fe. The movie plays on a small LCD at the back of the stage.
It is a depiction of the souls journey through the stages of life, taking the viewer from the innermost reaches of consciousness out into the external, material world. Moving through layers of form, the soul is born into the form of body, into the world of things and then melts back into the void. Installation information: The theatre is 2 feet deep, 1.5 feet wide and tall. It sits on a pedestal, just below eye level, with accommodations for a playback device and speakers inside the pedestal. I also do drawings, both on and off the computer. To see some of these go to annefarrell.com |
